The Oregon Rangers Association
Emergency medical response is our most important service to the community. Every Ranger undergoes intense training and is able to respond to almost any medical situation. We provide EMS coverage for special events such as camps, festivals, road races, and just about anything else that requires individuals with advanced medical skills on hand in case of emergencies.
Services the Oregon Rangers Association offers to our community:
Just as important as providing medical coverage is our medical training program. We provide 1st Responder training to rural police, EMS and fire departments in Oregon at no charge to the department. We can provide everything from a refresher course in specific skills to full certification of responders. We will also train non-government groups in CPR, First Aid, Wilderness Responder, and just about any other medical instruction your group may need. We ask most private groups to accept the training in exchange for a donation to directly fund the expenses of training professional and organized volunteer departments.

The Rangers offer Aircraft Crash Response classes to emergency responders and others likely to be the first on the scene of a crash. The class includes both class room instruction and hands on experience in dealing with the hazards of a wrecked aircraft. As every rural department should receive this instruction, we are currently putting together a DVD of the curriculum and various departments actually 'responding' to our training aircraft in this photograph. The class covers FAA rules, understanding debris fields, dealing with ballistic parachutes, how to safely cut into an aircraft when necessary, and much more.
One of the Oregon Rangers Association's newest projects is building a community disaster plan for Oregon's rural towns and unincorporated areas. The plan is to build a system for managing a natural or man made disaster quickly with the resources already on hand. The goal is to have a system in place to allow rural responders and community members to immediately implement the plan without waiting for outside help that may be delayed due to the scope of the disaster. Let us know if you would like to be a part of this exciting new project.
